Getting started

Credits and account

How Artgen accounts and credits work in plain language — sign-in, free fixed effects, AI usage, and where to see prices.

Do I need an account?

  • Browse styles, tools and blog pages — no account needed.
  • Run a fixed effect or AI generation — sign in required.

What uses credits

ActionCredits
Six fixed effects (pixel, ASCII, cyanotype, risograph, pop art, pointillism)No — free with sign-in
AI create from a promptYes — cost depends on the selected model
AI reimagine / style transfer on an uploadYes — cost depends on the model
ASCII conversion after an AI ASCII source image is readyNo extra charge to retry the character conversion

The studio shows the credit cost for the selected model before you generate. Different models can cost different amounts. There is no fixed “images per plan” count — see Pricing for subscriptions, one-time packs and billing details.

How credits behave (in words)

From the pricing FAQ and terms (paraphrased — always check the current Pricing and Terms pages):

  • Unused credits accumulate in your account balance and do not expire under the current offer while your account remains available.
  • Cancelling a subscription stops future renewals; it does not remove remaining credits.
  • Credits are added after a payment is confirmed as successful. Confirmation and credit delivery can take time.
  • Credits are deducted when an accepted generation request starts; if generation fails because the model service errors, the system tries to return them. If a return is missing, contact support with the request identifier.

Exact plan names, amounts and checkout run through Stripe on the pricing page.
